Dr. Ermshar is pleased to announce that Dr. Natalie Sobel has joined Dr. Ermshar, Specialized Psychological Services. Dr. Sobel has an impressive training and clinical track record. She has been a forensic evaluator for conditional release programs and completed her internship with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Natalie K. Sobel, Psy.D. obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from Miami University and a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University. She completed her dissertation on malingering and was selected to present her findings at the 2013 annual American Psychology-Law Society conference, along with Dr. Kyle Boone and Dr. Ermshar. Her clinical training and education has focused on interests in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), forensic psychology, and neuropsychological/risk assessment. Dr. Sobel has received training in these areas at Shields for Families, Huntington Memorial Hospital, and the Los Angeles County Conditional Release Program (CONREP). She also completed her pre-doctoral internship with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health in their Community and Correctional Psychology track, where she received specialized training in DBT from Harbor-UCLA fellows and in forensic issues, such as competency restoration. She also currently works as a Forensic Evaluator for the Los Angeles and San Diego County Conditional Release Programs.
